Im back to do a little more blogging. So here i go...
I always wondered at what point do adults become adults, and i somehow hit that point without even noticing it. However, by adult i dont mean being wise and responsible, i mean losing all the joy in little things. It seems a tad overdramatic, i know, but in the course of a year ive all of a sudden lost joy in the little things,
It could be a phase and im hoping thats the case because its the little things in life that we can always count on. Like one of my favorite feelings is putting on my glasses in the morning...that sounds weird but theres nothing like going from blind to well not blind in a split second. It's just so refreshing. Or how about when you wake up in the middle of the night and your dying of thirst...well i love those times when i have a bottle of water handy and can just chug some water and fall right back asleep. I feel like a superhero for remembering to bring water to bed the night before.
There are lots of little things that just could totally brighten a persons day if we remember to appreciate them. A good cup of coffee, a memory that makes you laugh or even just smile, an inside joke that youre on the inside of, being with someone you feel completely comfortable with, feeling needed by someone, laughing with friends, flipping through the channels and finding your favorite movie just starting, a nice warm sunny day, even hearing and seeing someone else laughing and having a good time. The list could go on for days, life is really full of little things you have to remember to appreciate. My favorite poem ALWAYS reminds me of this..."whose woods these are i think i know, his house is in the village though, he will not see me stopping by to watch his woods fill up with snow." ~Frost (that quote might be a little off i did it by memory) i think there is a couple things being portrayed by Frost in this poem but it always reminds me that no matter how busy i am and no matter the hurry im in, i should always take a minute to watch the snow fall and appreciate its beauty.
We work towards the big goals in life and we sort of live for the big things but its the little things that keep us going. Maybe we should give the little things like a nice warm shower a little more credit.
:-) Just sayin'...Whats your favorite little thing in life?
